Educational Program/Party Assistant

STEAMboat Studio is seeking knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and creative individuals to help support STEAM-focused programs at our Maple Valley studio, local events and at area schools throughout the year.

Work Schedule
Afternoons, evenings, and weekends during the school year and days/evenings during the summer.
Hours per Week
4-12
Dependent upon class schedule and party/event bookings.

Wage/Salary: $14.49 per hour

Primary Responsibilities
o Work with elementary age students in large and small group settings, including classes at our
Maple Valley location, programs at area schools, and public events in the community.
o Assist with supply preparation and distribution of supplies and tools to students as directed by
instructor.
o Support students by providing encouragement, clarifying instructions, and offering
practical assistance to complete hands-on STEAM activities.
o Help to maintain a positive learning environment by monitoring student behavior and providing
gentle reminders and corrections as needed.
o Assist with loading/unloading supplies, class setup and cleanup, and supply preparation for
various classes and events. May require some lifting, including tables and bins weighing 20-30 lbs
Additional Responsibilities:
o Routine cleaning of studio space
o Unpacking and putting away supplies after off-site classes and events

Qualifications
*Understanding of basic science principles and an enthusiasm for science and technology
*Experience working with children in large and small group settings
*Interest in gaining experience working with diverse student populations.
*Passion for teaching and sharing knowledge with others.
*Must be dependable and have reliable transportation.
