Scratch Games & Projects
Age range: 7-12 yrs
Learn to code with SCRATCH! Students will learn principles of computer science while creating fun games and projects using this intuitive drag-and-drop visual programming system. Build a new game or interactive program each week to help you gain confidence and learn new skills. This course requires basic familiarity with the Scratch programming interface. More advanced students will have the opportunity to add more features to their programs.

Learn to Code in Python, Levels 1 and 2
Age range: 7-12 yrs
Learning Python is an ideal way to dive into coding for brand new coders or, for those with previous knowledge with Scratch or other similar languages, Python expands those skills, creating a strong foundation for future adventures in coding. Presented in a combined video/Zoom format, this 6-week-course covers syntax, variables, loops, functions, Boolean operations, and more through a variety of different programs. Level 2 expands on these concepts, introducing new concepts such as recursion and data structures, enabling students to create more complex code and grow confidence in their skills.

Super Science! Levels 1 and 2
Age range: 7-12 yrs
Atoms and molecules, acids and bases, density, polarity and more are all on the menu in this comprehensive, high-energy program designed to capture students’ interest while familiarizing them with concepts they’ll encounter as their schooling continues. We’ll conduct hands-on experiments, concoct mixtures and solutions, explore states of matter, and create chemical reactions that will keep students asking questions and wanting to know more. This class introduces students to concepts they’ll recognize as their schooling continues, giving them confidence to step into future classrooms!

Slime Time
Age range: 7-12 yrs
The appeal of Slime is universal. For this reason, we offer Slime Time, a fun, sticky-fingered, messy course that demonstrates real chemical reactions and evolving states of matter through, yep, the creation of slime. In each class we’ll make three kinds to be sent home in carefully sealed plastic containers. Examples of past Slime include: fluffy, butter, snow, glass, mermaid, birthday cake, and galaxy. What could be next?

ENGINEERING FOR KIDS, Levels 1 and 2
Age range: 7-12 yrs
In this course, we learn about the science behind simple machines, circuits, magnets, and more as we build, tinker and create. Everyday materials such as straws, balloons, paperclips and tape find new uses and take new forms as students open their minds to new possibilities. Students will find themselves thinking like an engineer, learning the valuable lifelong skill of problem-solving to make improvements on their creations. Make room on your shelf–every creation goes home with its inventor at the end of class!
